The Hermann Lab at Penn State University is seeking a part-time Arthropod Ecology and Trophic Interactions Research Support member to assist with research involving Monarch butterflies, birds, and other insects.
Requirements
- No experience is necessary
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Willingness and ability to work in extreme conditions in greenhouse, laboratory, and field settings
- Attention to detail and the ability to follow experimental protocols
Responsibilities
- Assist with the care and maintenance of research plants and experimental setups
- Conduct observations and experiments involving birds, Monarchs, and other insects
- Assist with laboratory assays and data collection
- Work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and graduate students on research projects
- Maintain accurate records of experimental data and assist with data interpretation
- Help maintain a clean and organized work environment in the greenhouse, laboratory, and field settings

- This position requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties.
- A valid driver’s license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks.
