To help power the next generation of AI by providing expertise in pathogen detection assays to train large-scale language models for scientific discovery, democratizing education, enhancing diagnostics, and accelerating infectious disease research.
Requirements
- Specialists who live and breathe pathogen detection assays, molecular diagnostics, immunoassays, culture-based methods, biosafety protocols, assay validation, and clinical microbiology
- Familiarity with CLIA, CAP, or ISO standards
Responsibilities
- Challenge advanced language models on topics like PCR, qPCR, ELISA, lateral flow assays, antigen and antibody testing, sensitivity and specificity analysis, multiplexing, controls and standards, and assay troubleshooting
- Document every failure mode so we can harden model reasoning
- Converse with the model on real-world lab scenarios and theoretical assay design questions
- Verify factual accuracy and workflow logic
- Capture reproducible error traces
- Suggest improvements to our prompt engineering and evaluation metrics
Other
- A PhD in microbiology, molecular biology, biomedical sciences, or a closely related life‑science field is ideal
- Peer‑reviewed publications
- Hands‑on experience with pathogen assay development or diagnostics
- Clear, metacognitive communication—"showing your work"—is essential
- As a contractor you'll supply a secure computer and high‑speed internet; company‑sponsored benefits such as health insurance and PTO do not apply
