Squarespace is looking to solve the problem of powering data-driven insights that shape their workforce strategies by keeping their HR data ecosystem running efficiently.
Requirements
- 4-6+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or similar roles, ideally within a modern data stack (e.g., Fivetran, dbt, BigQuery, Looker).
- Strong SQL skills and experience developing data models within cloud data warehouses (GCP / BigQuery preferred).
- Experience building and maintaining ETL/ELT processes and automation workflows.
- Familiarity with Looker LookML development and dashboard optimization.
- Working knowledge of Python or R for data transformations and automation is a plus.
- Understanding of data warehousing principles, schema design, and performance tuning.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with an ability to balance detail orientation and efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain automated data pipelines across HR systems using Fivetran, dbt, and BigQuery, ensuring data accuracy, scalability, and performance.
- Support the design, development, and maintenance of the HR data warehouse on GCP, following data modeling best practices and maintaining clear documentation.
- Collaborate with People Analytics teammates to deliver high-quality, accurate datasets that support Looker dashboards and analytical reporting.
- Monitor pipeline health, troubleshoot issues, and proactively identify areas for optimization or automation.
- Translate business requirements into technical solutions by working closely with People Tech, IT, and HR partners.
- Maintain and enforce best practices for data governance, security, and confidentiality, ensuring sensitive employee data is handled responsibly and in compliance with internal policies.
- Perform quality control checks, validation, and testing of key HR datasets and metrics to ensure reliability and consistency.
