FOX 5 DC / FOX 5 Plus is seeking a Studio Technician / Technical Director to fill a variety of production roles and prepare materials for broadcasts, ensuring high-quality news delivery across multiple platforms.

- Ability to operate live broadcast production equipment.
- Solid understanding of live production environments, specifically news production, is required.
- Experience with automated control room environments.
Responsibilities
- Fill a variety of production roles and prep material for our broadcasts.
- Operate in a fast-paced, live production control room and studio.
- Perform functions including, but not limited to, technical director, audio operator, robotic camera, and/or floor director.
- Ability to operate live broadcast production equipment.
- Solid understanding of live production environments, specifically news production, is required.
- Experience with automated control room environments.
Other
- HS Diploma (or equivalent) is required.
- A minimum of 3 years of recent experience as a broadcast technician, master control technician, technical director, or similar role in a news environment.
- Previous experience in a medium to major size market is required.
- Excellent communication skills and news judgment.
- Ability to take direction and work under deadline pressure, consistently displaying a professional demeanor.
- Positive and supportive newsroom citizen.
- Flexibility in scheduling is essential, including evenings, early mornings, weekends, and holidays, and in the case of breaking news.
- Candidate will also be required to join the I.A.T.S.E Local 819 union.
