The New York City Housing Development Corporation (HDC) seeks to increase the supply of multi-family housing, stimulate economic growth, and revitalize neighborhoods by financing the creation and preservation of affordable housing for low-, moderate-, and middle-income New Yorkers. The Policy & Analytics Data Analysis Intern will support the Division’s Data Management Unit (DMU), which will inform the Corporation’s portfolio and market surveillance efforts.
Requirements
- Familiarity with MS Excel and MS Outlook
- Familiarity with R (Tidyverse), Python (Pandas), or other data analysis software (e.g. Stata)
Responsibilities
- Execute data extraction, cleaning, tabulation, and visualization as needed
- Perform data entry for rental assistance contracts
- Assist the team in the administration of HDC’s rent roll submission process
- Provide technical support to users submitting rent rolls; troubleshoot and solve permission, contact, and data quality challenges
- working on ad-hoc analyses
- helping the DMU conduct outreach to managing agents within the portfolio to collect rent roll submissions
