NC A&T State University's Electrical and Computer Engineering Department is seeking a Post-Doctoral Research Associate to conduct research in Autonomous Vehicles, Robotics, Perception, Control, and Navigation, aiming to advance the university's reputation in research and attract external funding.

Requirements

  • Programming and practical experiences with embedded real-time systems are desired.
  • Experience with ROS
  • Experience with Autoware
  • Good programming skills such as Python, C++, and ROS
  • Experience with development and deployment of AI models
  • Knowledge and experience with computer vision
  • Experience with edge devices

Responsibilities

  • Carry out research on sensor fusion, perception, and control of autonomous vehicles for different applications such as transportation systems and self-driving vehicles as well as autonomous ground and air vehicles.
  • Support projects through original research.
  • Collaboration with other team members.
  • Mentoring of students.
  • Contribute to additional proposal efforts.
  • Confer on overall research direction and strategy.
  • Publish research results, in collaboration with the Professor, in recognized journals.

Other

  • Ph.D. awarded within the last five years in Electrical and Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related area, specializing in Control and Robotics.
  • A strong theoretical and experimental background with evidence of skills related to autonomous vehicle technology and transportation technology.
  • The candidate is expected to have good skills in writing scientific papers and technical reports.
  • Possess a high level of initiative and the ability to multitask involving different research problems.
  • Able to make presentations utilizing excellent oral communication and facilitation skills.
