The University of Florida's Biomedical Engineering department is seeking a Postdoctoral Associate to leverage their research databank on student athletes to improve team performance, support student-athlete health and well-being, and facilitate scientific and educational research.
Requirements
- Ph.D. with experience in biomedical engineering, biomechanics, exercise physiology, sports science, exercise science, data science, computer science, or a related discipline.
- Experience with human subject research, including ethics approval processes and regulatory compliance
- Strong computer programming skills, including Python and Git/Github
- Experience or interest in learning data visualization strategies and dashboard development using tools like Streamlit
- Data analysis experience, including AI and machine learning methods
- Interest in learning or experience with high performance computing
Responsibilities
- managing, analyzing, and utilizing the data to benefit team performance, support student-athlete health and well-being, and enable scientific and educational research
- assist with data curation
- development of data visualization and analysis tools
- maintaining interdisciplinary relationships between UF researchers and UAA staff
- Strong computer programming skills, including Python and Git/Github
- Experience or interest in learning data visualization strategies and dashboard development using tools like Streamlit
- Data analysis experience, including AI and machine learning methods
Other
- Candidates will be expected to adhere to privacy regulations related to student-athletes, including but not limited to HIPAA, FERPA, NCAA compliance, and UAA reporting guidelines.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work on interdisciplinary teams is required.
- Broad knowledge of college sports and/or elite-level competitive athletics.
