Rutgers University is seeking a postdoctoral scientist to understand the impacts of environmentally driven changes in stock productivity on fisheries assessment and management of Northeast U.S. fish stocks by developing a management strategy evaluation (MSE) simulation model.
Requirements
- PhD in quantitative ecology, fisheries, statistics, applied mathematics, theoretical ecology, or a related field
- Strong quantitative skills
- Experience in quantitative modeling
- Experience in stock assessment
- Experience in population dynamics
- Experience in statistics
- Experience in computer programming (R, Python, Matlab, Template Model Builder, AD Model Builder)
Responsibilities
- develop a management strategy evaluation (MSE) simulation model to explore the impacts of long-term changes in stock productivity on the assessment and management advice
- defining biological references
- setting catch advice in a dynamic environment
- working independently and collaboratively (using platforms such as GitHub)
