Texas A&M University is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate to support the development and implementation of nonlinear scattering setups and contribute to ongoing research on the role of interfaces in liquid-liquid phase separation and carbohydrate recognition.
Requirements
- Knowledge of colloids, emulsions, nanomaterials
- Experience with optical setup construction as it pertains to required research
- Experience working with vibrational spectroscopy or micro spectroscopy techniques
- Expertise in laser systems, nonlinear optics, and optical setup construction
Responsibilities
- Designs and performs experiments at soft matter interfaces using advanced nonlinear vibrational spectroscopy and scattering
- Builds and optimizes the nonlinear spectroscopy and scattering setup for multiple interfacial molecular structure measurements
- Works with graduate and undergraduate students in the lab towards solving problems related to interface characterization
Other
- PhD in Chemistry, Physics or related field
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Commitment of 20 hours per week
- Work during the night and on weekends may be required
