Texas A&M University is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate to conduct experimental research in quantum optics and study the phenological migration behavior of small insects using a terra-mobile platform.
Requirements
- Interdisciplinary background and a working knowledge of vertical-looking insect radar, meteorology, insect LiDAR, and Ecology of Disease Vectors.
- Knowledge of scientific programming language(s).
- Knowledge of pulse generators, oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, diode lasers, telescopes, cameras, range finders, lathes, milling machines, 3D printers, band saws.
Responsibilities
- The Postdoctoral Research Associate is responsible for experimental research in quantum optics and studying the phenological migration behavior of small insects using the terra-mobile platform on the Salter Research Farm.
- Analyze data and summarize results by writing scientific papers, participating in conferences, preparing PowerPoint presentations/slides and related tasks as instructed.
- The Postdoctoral Research Associate is required to supervise, train, and mentor graduate students.
- Assist in hosting Institute visitors and assist in making IQSE sponsored activities successful.
