Texas A&M University Health Science Center is looking to conduct research into a specific field of expertise by hiring a Postdoctoral Research Associate.
Requirements
- Solid training and experience in cardiovascular disease research.
- Degree in biomedical sciences
- Knowledge of molecular cloning to generate, construct, and experience in adenovirus application.
- mouse heart dissection, processing and staining; embryo dissection, Langendorff perfusion, open chest microsurgeries (e.g. transverse aortic constriction, myocardial infarction, and hypertension models), echocardiographic operation and data analysis.
- Experience with mouse and rat handling and physiology.
- Primary cardiomyocyte isolation and culture.
- Knowledge of computers and computer software related to the position
Responsibilities
- Conducting research into their field of expertise.
- Utilizes the skills and expertise granted to them by their education and experience to complete research projects in their field of expertise.
- Writes and may contribute to research papers, articles, and publications.
- Assists with the preparation and cleaning of worksite.
- Analyzes research data and summarizes results.
- Prepares presentation materials on research topic that may be presented to small and/or large groups.
- Actively participates in the preparation of required technical progress reports to research sponsors.
