The Ghanbarpour Laboratory at WashU Medicine is seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher to understand the molecular mechanisms of ATP-dependent AAA+ proteolytic machines in bacterial systems and human mitochondria, focusing on their formation, substrate specificity, and function in mitochondria through advanced structural biology and biochemical techniques.

Responsibilities
- Elucidate the structure and function of these soluble and membrane-anchored ATP-dependent AAA proteases along with accessory proteins in mitochondria.
- Gain extensive hands-on experience with cryo-EM and cryo-ET sample preparation and analysis, heterogeneity analysis tools, mass spectrometry, biochemistry, membrane biology, and cellular assays.
- Assists with grant preparation and reporting.
- Prepares and submits papers on research.
- Assists in the design of research experiments.
- Evaluates research findings and assists in the reporting of the results.
