Carnegie Mellon University is looking for a researcher to model energy consumption in U.S. households and the potential grid impact and customer adoption of heat pumps and advanced electrification measures.
Requirements
- Expertise using the National Renewable Energy Laboratory's End-Use Load Profiles for the U.S. Building Stock to model residential energy use
- Experience in the use of the tradeoff analysis of residential retrofits for energy equity (TARE) model
- Expertise in projecting energy use using Python
- Programming languages, technical skills, or domain-specific tools
Responsibilities
- Conduct research experiments within the predetermined research scope and methodology of department and university.
- Collect and analyze data, including periodical/literature search and utilizing specialized skills in related field to analyze the collected data.
- Participate/assist in manuscript writing for publication in scientific journals and/or presentations. May also assist in grant writing.
