The University of Pennsylvania's Perelman School of Medicine is looking to solve problems in statistical foundations of large language models and development of foundation models and agentic AI for biomedical research and healthcare
Requirements
- Ph.D. degree in statistics, computer science, or related quantitative fields
- Excellent training in statistics and/or machine learning
- Excellent programming skills in Python
- Possibly other programming languages such as C++ and Java
Responsibilities
- Conduct research on statistical foundations of large language models (LLMS) under joint supervision of Dr. Weijie Su
- Develop and assess foundation models and agentic AI for biomedical research and healthcare using multimodal data such as electronic health records (EHRs) data, multi-omics data and imaging data
- Write peer-reviewed publications for research conferences and journals
- Give presentations at research conferences
- Assist in grant proposal development
- Develop independence in methodological research
- Collaborate with researchers in radiology and computer science
