Leidos is seeking a PostgreSQL Database Administrator to support the Passenger Systems Program Directorate (PSPD) within Customs and Border Protection (CBP), which is critical for screening and processing travelers at U.S. ports of entry. The role involves architecting, designing, building, and enhancing highly available, scalable, real-time systems.
Requirements
- 4+ years’ experience tuning Aurora PostgreSQL database performance and PL/pgSQL scripts to optimize performance
- 4+ years’ experience as an AWS Aurora PostgreSQL DBA in a 24x7 environment managing multiple databases of over 70TB.
- Individual must have at least 4+ years’ experience as an Oracle DBA in a 24x7 environment supporting databases of over 200TB
- Proficiency in tuning Oracle Databases and troubleshooting performance issues.
- Migration of Oracle to Aurora PostgreSQL with over 70TB migrating from Oracle to Aurora
- Experience using Generative AI to tune SQL statements
- Experience with CI/CD, SecDevOps, Git source code repository (GitLab, GitHub)
Responsibilities
- Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and support ability and effectiveness analyzes.
- Designs and implements database schemas and structures according to project requirements.
- Develops and maintains documentation for database environments, including data standards and procedures.
- Plans for storage requirements and database growth, and scale infrastructure as needed.
- Collaborates with developers to optimize queries, stored procedures, and database design for applications.
- 4+ years’ experience tuning Aurora PostgreSQL database performance and PL/pgSQL scripts to optimize performance
- 4+ years’ experience as an AWS Aurora PostgreSQL DBA in a 24x7 environment managing multiple databases of over 70TB.

- Must be a self-starter, strong leader, and the ability to work independently with little supervision.
