S&C Electric Company is looking to solve the problem of keeping the lights on for people and businesses worldwide by building equipment that protects the critical infrastructure of the power grid.
Requirements
- Enrolled in an Electrical Engineering program at an accredited university.
- Familiarity with or interest in SCADA protocols such as Modbus and DNP3.
- Familiarity with or interest in electrical power generation, distribution, and/or microgrids.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD or other drawing programs is a plus.
- Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
- Knowledge of electrical design drawings, including one-line, three-line, communication, and wiring diagrams.
Responsibilities
- Develop an understanding of how to read and interpret electrical design drawings, including one-line, three-line, communication, and wiring diagrams.
- Create and update electrical design drawings in AutoCAD.
- Work closely with team members during Factory Acceptance Testing of S&C manufactured equipment, including assisting with developing the procedures and performing physical testing of the equipment.
- Work in the hardware lab to design and implement test environments for real-world applications, communicate with hardware such as protective relays, automation controllers, and microgrid control systems.
- Design and develop communication libraries for the GridMaster Microgrid Control System to interact with S&C manufactured equipment and third-party devices.
- Develop an understanding of the lifecycle of power system control development, from initial design through final commissioning.
- Document and communicate effectively to internal stakeholders including writing reports and delivering presentations.
