Requirements
- Experience with Python and SQL
- Experience with statistical techniques such as Machine Learning or Artificial Intelligence
- Proven data analytic skills and working with large data sets/relational databases
- Experience as a power system engineer or similar type role
- Experience within the electric utility industry
- Bachelor's Degree: Electrical Engineering or related field
- Experience with system modeling and analysis
Responsibilities
- Provide electrical engineering analysis and technical support for the planning and operation of the electric power system
- Implement appropriate system modeling, develops tools and procedures to monitor and control the system, performs system studies, analyzes simulated or actual operating results, develops solutions to current or future system issues, and appropriately reports findings and recommendations
- Work with our Energy Management System specifically with tuning and support of Load Frequency Control, Resource Limit Calculator, and Generation to be Dispatched
- Analyze system performance and reliability of the grid by conducting analysis using various techniques
- Develop methodology for Ancillary Service quantification with the use of statistical/probabilistic analysis, and machine learning techniques to ensure grid variability
- Learns how to use and develop software tools that enhance system reliability and departmental/organizational efficiencies
- Assist in developing tools, processes and procedures that enhance system reliability and departmental/organizational efficiencies
Other
- Requires minimum 2+ years job related experience in excess of degree requirements
- Bachelor's Degree: Electrical Engineering or related field (Required)
- Must be able to work on-site in Taylor, TX at least 2-3 days per week, or more, as needed based on the business needs
- Remote work is required to be performed from your Texas residence
- Employees may opt to work on-site more than required or 100% of the time
