QTEC Aerospace is seeking a SOFTWARE SYSTEMS ENGINEER to join their team to provide program, engineering, and technical support to Missile Defense programs, specifically focusing on protecting the United States and its allies.
Requirements
- In-depth understanding of systems engineering process and principles
- Proven track record of successfully applying system engineering principles to develop product solutions
- Experience developing system engineering artifacts (e.g., specifications, Interface Control Documents, Use Cases, System Architecture Descriptions, Trade Studies, etc.)
- Software development experience developing applications
- Use of common software development and management tools such as git, Nexus, JIRA, Confluence, Maven or Gradle, and Eclipse
- Understanding of standard system engineering design artifacts such as Use Cases and SysML diagrams
- Experience developing software for Unix/Linux and Windows platforms
Responsibilities
- Responsible for software systems engineering products for their assigned Scrum Team, including the development of software products
- Perform in-depth analysis and technical support of systems software products, including complex problem resolution, design, development, testing, operational integration, and user support
- Provide systems engineering support for the team that maintains, debugs, and configures related software products
- Works from specifications to develop or modify operating system applications
- Assists with design, coding, benchmark testing, debugging, and documentation of programs
- Collaborate with other product teams to break down system requirements into manageable software-level requirements
- Work with other product teams to develop / update system external interfaces

- The successful candidate will be detail oriented, have a proven track record and a positive work ethic.
- Bachelors degree with at least 5 years of experience, or equivalent. Master's degree with at least 3 years of experience is desired
- IAT - level II within 60 days of hire
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, and prepare and brief presentations to the customer as needed
- Self-starter with ability to work both independently and in a team environment
