Hitachi Rail is seeking a Principal Auxiliary and Infrastructure Lead to lead the design, coordination, and implementation of auxiliary and infrastructure systems for the BART CBTC project.
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of auxiliary mechanical and electrical systems (design, installation, commissioning).
- Familiarity with contract management, interface coordination, and compliance processes.
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office; knowledge of Autodesk Revit or 3D software is a plus.
- 8–10 years of experience in Infrastructure and Auxiliary Works within the railway engineering context, including brownfield projects.
- Proven experience in infrastructure construction and civil installation design.
- Full-cycle experience in test and commissioning phases.
- University degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering, or equivalent technical background.
Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate the infrastructure and auxiliary design team, ensuring alignment with project goals and timelines.
- Manage the design of auxiliary systems including HVAC, fire detection, hotel power distribution, ventilation, and technical room structures.
- Integrate CBTC infrastructure design to ensure constructability and compliance with system requirements and local regulations.
- Ensure application of quality control procedures at all design stages.
- Address RFIs and site modification requests promptly and accurately, ensuring proper documentation and communication.
- Coordinate design and commissioning activities, including preparation of FAT, PICO, and SAT documentation.
- Identify and resolve technical interfaces between auxiliary/infrastructure subsystems and other stakeholders.
