Capital One is looking to leverage data science to disrupt the credit card industry and unlock opportunities to help everyday people save money, time, and agony in their financial lives. The Bank Operations Data Science team specifically aims to build machine learning models for core internal capabilities like Check/Document Reading, Anomaly Identification, Natural Language Processing of Calls, and operational forecasting, using emerging technologies.
Requirements
- At least 3 years’ experience in Python
- At least 3 years’ experience with machine learning
- At least 3 years’ experience with SQL
- At least 1 year of experience working with AWS
- At least one agentic system personally built
- At least one machine vision model personally built
- Experience with clustering, classification, sentiment analysis, time series, and deep learning.
Responsibilities
- Build machine learning models through all phases of development, from design through training, evaluation, validation, and implementation
- Leverage a broad stack of technologies — Python, Snowflake, and more — to reveal the insights hidden within huge volumes of numeric and textual data
- Partner with a cross-functional team of data scientists, software engineers, business analysts, and product managers to deliver a product customers love
- Works directly with our Enterprise Payments team to streamline all payment/monetary transfer channels. This ranges from ingestion, through anomaly detection, and even operational streamlining with agentic processes.
- Build ground-breaking industry leading models using emerging technologies like neural networks, LLMs, transformer architectures, and agentic experiences.
- Continually research and evaluate emerging technologies.
- Stay current on published state-of-the-art methods, technologies, and applications and seek out opportunities to apply them.
