Beehive Industries is looking to revolutionize the design, development, and delivery of jet propulsion systems to support the warfighter by improving a jet engine’s speed to market, fuel efficiency, and cost.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of design software tools
  • Experience working with gas turbines for aviation product applications from a mechanical and aero design perspective
  • Experience working with additive manufacturing technologies and familiarity with design for additive manufacturing principles
  • Passion for additive technology and willingness to challenge current design limitations to further exploit the benefits of additive capability
  • Demonstrated problem solving ability and strong program leadership and execution skills
  • Proven self-starter and quick learner

Responsibilities

  • Execute the aerodynamic design, analysis, and evaluation of a centrifugal compressor using sound engineering principles while meeting industry standards and program requirements
  • Expertise delivering aerodynamic solutions using 1-D, 2-D, and 3-D tools with gas turbines. Experience in evaluating tip leakages, end wall contouring, and designing for secondary flow and cooling features.
  • Lead component and system trades from an aerodynamic perspective. Set test objectives and limits, instrumentation and test data requirements, and test planning to execute component validation.
  • Serve as the aerodynamic design subject matter expert as part of a diverse system design team. Ensure products and sub-systems meet overall requirements from a design perspective. Advocate for component durability while understanding the trade-offs and business decisions necessary to deliver the best overall solution.
  • Lead design reviews and coordinate with other disciplines in design, performance, stress and life, additive manufacturing, materials and system analysis
  • Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments
  • Lead methodologies to develop new technologies to optimize the overall aerodynamic performance of a gas turbine with additive manufacturing.

Other

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited university or college
  • At least 13+ years of experience in gas turbine component design
  • Strong oral and written communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
  • Due to contract requirements with the Department of Defense, U.S. citizenship is required for this role
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
