Brunswick is looking to hire a Principal Design Engineer to lead the design, development, and validation of cowling and latching systems and related components on marine outboard engines, aiming to innovate next-generation technologies that transform experiences on the water.
Requirements
- Understanding of a variety of manufacturing processes (Sheet metal forming, Aluminum casting, injection molded plastic, molded or extruded rubber)
- Experience with Injection molded plastic processes
- Experience with Large class A panel design
- Experience with Seal design and development
- Experience with NVH design and development
- Experience with FMEA process
- Experience with Six sigma tools and application
Responsibilities
- Design and analyze Class A Cowl components, seals, panel to panel fit, and related components/systems
- Develop designs for Class A components and customer interaction points utilizing a multitude of manufacturing processes
- Lead concept and process exploration through competitive assessments, concept trade off studies, cross functional reviews, etc
- Work cross-functionally with Industrial Design to develop Class A parts and customer interaction points for outboard engines
- Identify, generate, and compare solutions while showcasing compromises (fit and finish, cost, mass, schedule, resources, manufacturability etc)
- Develop and execute FMEA's, DVP's, DFSS tools, facilitate failure analysis and corrective actions
- Develop and contribute to test procedures and design standards to guide future project work
Other
- 8+ year of experience in product development
- Ability to identify and present risk and technical issues in design for review
- Ability to utilize Creo for model and print creation, 3D model evaluation or component analysis
- Experience within Teamcenter engineering or similar PLM software/Change Release Process
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
