Through the integration of additive manufacturing, the company aims to meet the growing and urgent needs for unmanned aerial defense by dramatically improving a jet engine’s speed to market, fuel efficiency, and cost.

Requirements

  • At least 12 + years of experience working with propulsion systems and/or engine-airframe integration, and 4 years actively using Cameo
  • Strong understanding of MBSE tools

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and integration of aviation propulsion systems on DoD applications using MBSE methodologies. Ensure systems meet customer requirements.
  • Develop and maintain system models using tools such as Cameo, SysML, MATLAB/Simulink, and other MBSE tools. Perform simulations and analyses to validate system performance and behavior.
  • Define, manage, and trace system requirements throughout the project lifecycle. Ensure alignment between stakeholder needs and system capabilities.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including system architecture, design specifications, test plans, and validation reports.
  • Serve as a engine system integration subject matter expert as part of a diverse system design team. Ensure products and sub-systems meet overall requirements.
  • Support capturing test data and lessons learned, connecting back to MBSE structure and requirements
  • Participate in the research and development of technologies and methodologies associated with additive design. Advise on ways to improve product design through the exploitation of additive manufacturing.

  • Advocate for the customer while understanding programmatic trade-offs and business decisions necessary to deliver the best overall solution.
  • Coordinate with design and cross-functional teams to meet product requirements.
  • Lead and/or participate in design reviews
  • Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments
  • Assure proper documentation of technical data generated consistent with engineering best practices
  • Work with suppliers to procure hardware and resolve delivery and quality issues
  • Passion for additive technology and willingness to challenge current design limitations to further exploit the benefits of additive capability
  • Strong oral and written communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
  • Demonstrated problem solving ability and strong program leadership and execution skills
  • Proven self-starter and quick learner who can work in fast-paced cross-functional teams.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required, as only U.S. Citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
