Verizon is looking to solve business requirements involving advanced networks, data center, security, and virtualization technologies by developing fault and performance management policies and automation rules. The role will support standard and custom solution development initiatives and network management device and application certification for Managed Services solutions and clients, requiring close collaboration with various internal and external teams to manage the design and implementation of client projects.
Requirements
- Routing protocols (BGP, OSPF,OMP, Static Routes, Policy Routing, Route redistribution)
- Switching (Spanning-Tree, VLANs, Trunking, EtherChannel)
- QoS (Traffic Shaping, Route-maps, etc.)
- Security (AAA configuration, Certificates, Network Address Translation (NAT),Access Control Lists (ACLs), VRF segmentation)
- Cisco SDWAN (Topology Build, Template Creation, HA Configuration, SDWAN DIA Concepts - Guest Service, Direct Internet Service, Cloud Services, etc.)
- Wireless/Wifi (WAPS, Wireless Controllers (WLCs), Wireless site surveys, heat map generation)
- WAN Technologies (MPLS, Broadband, Wireless/5G/LTE/FWA/CradlePoint, Satellite ( StarLink))
Responsibilities
- Provide mentoring, technical training and support for the Lifecycle Engineering and Implementation Engineering teams.
- Design, implement, and support solutions involving, but not limited to, WAN, LAN, WLAN, VoIP, Data Analytics, Security and Virtual (e.g.; Virtualization, SDN, NFV) technologies.
- Analyze, evaluate and communicate network capacity and performance data with the objective of driving improvements to customer's network.
- Responsible for matrix supervision of a team for specific projects, resource management, process documentation, and peer mentoring.
- Responsible for overseeing customer network documentation such as solution design document, record of change, and network diagrams.
- Provide 4th level incident support for customers.
- Responsible for presentations and demonstrations related to technology, process, or client solutions.
Other
- Requires ownership of design and critical issues, creative thinking, and problem resolution skills.
- Position may require after hours support.
- Responsible for the protection of Verizon customer proprietary network information and Verizon information assets.
- Ability to lead and drive projects to completion and balance multiple work assignments simultaneously.
- Ability to lead technical discussions with a group of individuals in the industry with varying technical positions.
