Verizon is looking to architect, design, develop, optimize, and support highly scalable backend services and pipelines for their Video products, aiming to enhance user experience and drive innovation in video delivery.
Requirements
- Experience designing, developing and troubleshooting high performance and highly scalable web services.
- Experience in a technical leadership role, architecting and delivering highly scalable and customer facing web services
- Hands-on experience developing large-scale backend systems development using .NET/C, Scala, SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Experience with AWS Cloud Architecture, Microservices, S/W development tools such as GIT, Splunk, Jenkins, Atlassian tools
- Domain knowledge of video streaming services/products and video delivery systems.
- Experience with IPTV, DRM, Video streaming protocols - MPEGDASH/HLS, OAuth standards
- Experience in architecting and developing highly performant and scalable backend services and pipelines.
Responsibilities
- Architecting, designing, developing, optimizing and supporting highly scalable backend services and pipelines for Verizon's Video products
- Working with internal and external stakeholders on the backend development teams, client development teams, QA, product, marketing, network, dev-ops, operations and customer support teams as well as other development organizations in Verizon
- Working on requirements discussions, developing and delivering efficient and scalable solutions, and debugging and fixing customer issues
- Working on video technologies and areas such as IPTV, Linear and On-demand streaming and video encoding/decoding technologies, Digital Rights Management, OAuth/SSO/Biometrics, Web Authentication/Authorization technologies, Edge services and security technologies
- Working on server technology stacks such as .NET/C, Scala, NodeJS/Angular, AWS, SQL and NoSQL databases
- Providing technical leadership supporting new ideation and innovation efforts
- Creating proof-of-concept implementations
Other
- Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
- Six or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military experience, or specialized training.
- Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.
- Leading and mentoring a team of contractors.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, particularly technical communication.
