Innovative Medicine Research & Development at Johnson & Johnson is looking to recruit a Principal Engineer, Platform/Cloud Engineering to drive the overall Digital Imaging ecosystem and related disciplines, and deliver high performing, scalable, reusable and cost optimized solutions across the IM R&D organization.
Requirements
- Experience with Python, Java, C++, or related complex programming language is required.
- Experience with AWS EC2 and S3 is required.
- Experience with functionality of Windows platforms is required.
- Experience with functionality of Linux platforms is required.
- Experience with technical vendor management is required.
- Experience working on cross functional and global teams is required.
- Experience with hands on GraphQL API implementation is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Be a key contributor in setting technology strategy/roadmaps, as well as lead and implement technology deployments to business partners in all areas of Digital Imaging, including but not limited to Digital Pathology, Digital Radiology and Clinical Imaging.
- Maintain strong partnerships with business partners in Pre-Clinical Sciences & Translational Safety, Oncology, Neuroscience, Immunology, Data Sciences, Molecular Imaging and others based on incoming demand.
- Contribute technology expertise to help identify and assess areas of greatest opportunity and impact for Digital Imaging technology platforms in pharmaceutical research and development at Innovative Medicine, and execution of Digital Imaging platform capabilities.
- Collaborate with numerous groups across the IT organization, engage and influence in sector and enterprise technology leadership, as well as partner externally with the Life Sciences industry Imaging community.
- Drive the team's technology stack, including capabilities for scheduling, communication, monitoring, reporting, alerting, deployment, orchestration, configuration management, infrastructure, reuse and reproducibility.
- Leverage the unique capabilities of cloud computing to deliver effective solutions.
- Establish long term sustainable operational processing and resource models.
Other
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree is required preferably in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Computational Science, or related field.
- A minimum of 6 years of industry experience.
- Proven ability to lead technology platforms, programs, projects and apply technical acumen to create new opportunities is required.
- Experience working in a fast-paced collaborative environment is required.
- Up to 5% local travel between sites, in addition to other domestic travel.
