Collins Aerospace is looking to solve the problem of ensuring quality and performance standards are met in the development of aircraft interior products, specifically in the area of structural engineering and certification.
Requirements
- Must possess at least 5 years of experience with: Boeing D6, Airbus Frame Specification, and FAA/EASA regulations and their application towards the certification of aircraft seating products.
- Must possess at least 5 years of experience in engineering development of highly regulated products with a focus on those specific to aircraft interiors.
- Must possess at least 4 years of experience leading engineering teams in the development of highly regulated products with a preference for those specific to aircraft interiors.
- Must possess at least 4 years of experience planning and managing engineering schedules to develop and deliver highly regulated/engineered products.
- Finite Element Analysis (FEA) experience
- Structural static pull and full dynamic simulation experience
- Experience with design and certification of aircraft interior products
Responsibilities
- Establish structural specifications, conduct performance tests, and plan or conduct experimental, environmental, operational, or stress tests on models or prototypes of systems or equipment to ensure quality and performance standards are met.
- Formulate conceptual design of products or systems to meet customer requirements.
- Evaluate product data and design from inspections and reports for conformance to engineering principles, customer requirements, and quality standards to ensure compliance and product quality.
- Apply scientific principles, design major components or portions of a functional system, technically advanced prototype, specific or promotional product to ensure high quality and function.
- Analyze, research and develop structural engineering specifications for product design, or operation of product to include structures, mechanical and maintenance designs.
- Analyze damage tolerance, durability, design allowables and structural modeling.
- Supply stress and structural support to the design and certification groups based on the provided geometry model.
Other
- Must possess at least a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering or related field and 8 years of progressive experience as a Mechanical Engineer, Aerospace Engineer or related role in the aerospace industry.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the company’s immigration sponsorship now or in the future.
- Non-US Person - Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the company’s immigration sponsorship now or in the future.
- Travel to manufacturing site in Kilkeel Northern Ireland in support of customer meetings (i.e. FAI, Trim and Finish Reviews, etc.) up to 4 times per year.
