Collins is seeking a Principal Engineer to lead and manage engineering projects with a focus on scope, cost, schedule, and risk for military engine programs.
Requirements
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint, Excel, and Integrated Master Schedule/Project scheduling tools.
- Familiarity with CORE tools/systems to support project management and collaboration efforts is highly desirable.
- Experience working within a highly matrixed organization, collaborating with team members, suppliers, and customers.
- Ability to multitask, meet challenging schedules, and deliver projects on budget.
- Proven experience with effective planning and execution skills.
- Demonstrated ability to use motivation, creativity, ownership, urgency, and strong interpersonal skills to drive results.
- Experience with Earned Value Reporting (SPI/CPI) and Cost Account Management (CAM) duties.
Responsibilities
- Manage the design and integration of complex assemblies in accordance with Collins’s product development process.
- Guide, mentor, and lead team members within the group as directed by the Cost Account Manager (CAM).
- Develop basis of estimates (BOE) to support business proposals, including negotiating with the end customer.
- Provide design oversight for specifications, drawings, and test plans.
- Perform system and component requirements reviews and compliance assessments.
- Develop and manage project risk and mitigation plans.
- Develop and deliver detailed presentations for product design reviews.

- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience
