Faith Technologies, Inc. is looking for a Principal Engineer to lead the design, development, and testing of cutting-edge systems and technologies for DER and power distribution applications, focusing on developing a technology roadmap and influencing the future of technology and product development.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in system design, architecture, testing, or integration of various relevant energy technologies for microgrid, power generation, and energy storage.
  • Experience with collaboration and application of modeling for system design.
  • Demonstrated experience providing strategic direction to company-wide product and technology roadmaps.
  • Experience in performance modeling and simulation of microgrid power generation components, control systems, power conversion components with Matlab/Simulink, Simscape, Amesim or similar tools preferred.
  • Strong understanding of renewable energy systems, including solar, wind, power conversion, and energy storage technologies.
  • Knowledge of grid integration and energy management systems a plus.
  • Strong understanding of related regulatory frameworks and industry standards related to the relevant energy technologies: Microgrid, Power generation, and Energy storage preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the processes and strategies for the design, development, and testing of cutting-edge systems and technologies for DER and power distribution applications.
  • Develop a technology roadmap for required systems, characterizing and benchmarking technologies and components, ensuring they meet size, efficiency, performance, cost, and specification requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop a technology roadmap for energy, power distribution, and power conversion solutions targeting various markets.
  • Characterize, benchmark, and define requirements for design, development of proof-of-concept prototypes, and testing of various components and technologies.
  • Responsible for characterizing size, performance, efficiency, cost, and requirements for various components and technologies used for DER and power distribution in microgrid, EV charging, and data center applications.
  • Work closely with systems simulation and FEA/CFD engineers to communicate requirements, performance targets, and boundary conditions for modeling and simulation analysis.
  • Collaborate with controls software engineers to establish guidelines and performance targets for energy management systems, microgrid controllers, and other functional design.

  • Travel: 5-10%
  • Work Schedule: This position works between the hours of 7 AM and 5 PM, Monday- Friday. Overtime may be required. However, work may be performed at any time on any day of the week to meet business needs.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace, Chemical). Advanced degree in Engineering (Electrical, Chemical, Mechanical) or equivalent preferred.
