HARMAN is seeking to develop the next generation of world-class sound products for their JBL professional loudspeakers brand, requiring an engineer to be responsible for delivering new products from conception to mass production.
Requirements
- Minimum of 6 years’ experience in loudspeaker systems design
- Thorough understanding of fundamental acoustic engineering principles
- Experience in using simulation software (COMSOL, SolidWorks)
- Experience in using test and measurement equipment (e.g. Klippel R&D environment, Listen SoundCheck, EASRA, or similar)
- Experience in software in Matlab / Python or similar
Responsibilities
- Perform electro-acoustic analysis and design
- Be responsible for the overall sound and performance of the product
- Work with mechanical engineers on the final product, the design for manufacturing, and the environmental and compliance design
- Create and maintain product requirements specification and design architecture
- Develop creative acoustic designs, simulate initial concepts create prototypes and demonstrate product feasibility
- Pivot between the product manager, project manager and engineering team, to resolve engineering and project timing issues
- Being the acoustic specialist in the project team
Other
- Relevant Bachelor’s degree: Acoustics, Physic, Mechanical, Electrical or equivalent
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience working within and guiding interdisciplinary teams
- Willingness to travel 10% of the time
- Willingness to work in an office in Northridge, CA
