Microsoft's cloud growth requires innovation in hardware designs, and the SPARC team needs a Principal Hardware Product Manager to manage Azure's hardware roadmap from architecture concept through production for all current and future online services.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience working in HW accelerator programs or a product manager
  • 7+ years of technical product management experience, including products within datacenter Hardware systems and/or Cloud infrastructure.
  • Must be conversant in software and hardware architectures. Includes knowledge of the component technologies (networking, silicon, storage, memory, etc.) in the hardware industry.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with customers and partner organizations to drive a hardware accelerator and server infrastructure initiative for Azure data centers.
  • Identify and prioritize customer needs, market opportunities, and competitive gaps, and translate them into clear and actionable product requirements and specifications.
  • Lead the strategic product vision and drive internal alignment among wide-ranging cross-functional stakeholders to define the hardware technology platform plan of record.
  • Lead technical programs from concept to execution, collaborating with architecture, engineering and business teams to develop and drive end-to-end product development.
  • Establish platform and front end network prioritization strategies based on workload analysis.
  • Track dependencies across SoC, OS, agents, networking, and telemetry.
  • Work closely with supply teams to mitigate risks related to hardware availability and timeline shifts.

Other

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years experience in product/service/program management or software development OR equivalent experience.
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role.
  • Communication skills, including the ability to build compelling internal/external presentations and technology-focused whitepapers, and comprehensive business review materials as well as the ability to translate abstract thoughts, key themes and tactics into understandable messages for broad consumption.
  • Demonstrable knowledge and depth of security concepts, especially those pertaining to Cloud / Server architectures and business models.
  • Demonstrated excellent analytical, problem resolution and decision-making skills.
