Raft is seeking a Principal Machine Learning Engineer to support U.S. military and government agencies by designing and implementing advanced AI/ML strategies to extract insights from data and modernize legacy systems.
Requirements
- Demonstrated ability to introduce new technology into organizations to further their ability to drive value from data using AI/ML.
- Deep understanding of Neural Networks, Heuristics, and Operations Analysis Algorithms.
- Experience with edge AI and autonomous data fusion systems (highly preferred).
- Familiarity with defense and national security applications (highly preferred).
- Ability to train and retrain ML systems and models as needed.
- Ability to identify differences in data distribution that could affect model performance in real-world situations.
- Ability to visualize data for deeper insights.
Responsibilities
- Design, plan, implement, and guide enterprise AI/ML strategies.
- Oversee all aspects of the ML lifecycle, including data collection, cleaning, pre-processing, model training, and production deployment.
- Introduce new technology into organizations to further their ability to drive value from data using AI/ML.
- Design, develop, and research Machine Learning systems, models, and schemes.
- Study, transform, and convert data science prototypes into production-ready systems.
- Perform statistical analysis and use results to improve models.
- Verify data quality and ensure it via data cleaning.

- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Security Clearance.
- Remote work is available, but candidates based in DMV/NCR, Tampa, FL, or Hanscom AFB, MA are strongly preferred.
- Up to 35% travel may be required.
- All work must be conducted within the continental U.S.
