BAE Systems is looking to develop and implement mission-critical factory systems and solutions, and needs a Principal Manufacturing Software Engineer to lead the team's software development and factory support efforts.
Requirements
- Strong understanding of factory operations and manufacturing processes
- Basic understanding of software development concepts, including programming languages, networking, and version control
- Experience with RF device manufacturing and testing
- Familiarity with Industry 4.0 and digital transformation initiatives
- Experience with cloud-based software solutions and integration with factory systems
- Familiarity with MBSE methodologies and best practices, including the ability to apply MBSE principles to complex system development
- Ability to debug code and troubleshoot technical issues, with a focus on identifying and resolving root causes
Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of software systems for factory operations, including those that interact directly with customers
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to cross-functional teams, including software development, factory operations, and customer support
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand customer requirements and develop software solutions that meet those needs
- Design, develop, and implement software systems that integrate with factory equipment and manufacturing processes
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to software and factory operations
- Develop and implement processes and procedures to ensure efficient and effective factory operations
- Collaborate with external partners and vendors to implement software solutions and integrate with factory systems
Other
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field
- 4+ years of engineering experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment, with a focus on software development and integration
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
- Experience leading cross-functional teams and providing technical leadership
