TIFIN is looking to solve the problem of personalizing and improving financial advice at scale by leveraging AI and LLMs. They aim to build AI-powered financial technology that can deliver dynamic, tailored guidance without added complexity, and to create tools that power real outcomes in the financial services industry.
Requirements
- Experience building generative AI products where LLM models are a core component
- Experience shipping generative AI products powered by LLMs: designing and implementing agentic workflows that enable autonomous AI behaviors, leveraging the latest state-of-the-art research
- Design and fine-tune open source and proprietary LLMs for various tasks such as answering questions, summarization, reasoning and planning, etc.
- Apply reinforcement learning techniques—including reinforcement learning fine tuning (e.g., PPO, DPO, GRPO)—to continuously optimize model performance.
- Develop and integrate agentic workflow systems that empower AI agents to operate autonomously, enabling proactive decision-making and dynamic interactions.
Responsibilities
- Define and drive the AI strategy that drives TIFIN’s innovation and growth
- Collaborate with product team and software engineering team to build end-to-end product systems.
- Zero-to-one product development: rapidly prototype, evaluate, integrate, and test new product features in collaboration with product and engineering teams.
- Develop and integrate agentic workflow systems that empower AI agents to operate autonomously, enabling proactive decision-making and dynamic interactions.
- Design and fine-tune open source and proprietary LLMs for various tasks such as answering questions, summarization, reasoning and planning, etc.
- Apply reinforcement learning techniques—including reinforcement learning fine tuning (e.g., PPO, DPO, GRPO)—to continuously optimize model performance.
Other
- 7+ years of experience (post-MS/Ph.D) in applied AI engineering, including 2+ years as a technical leader
- Resilience and adaptability - experience working at early-stage startups or building 0-1 is a plus

- This is an individual contributor and technical leadership role reporting into the Head of AI.
