onsemi is looking for a Product Engineer to ensure the success of mass production parts, focusing on quality, yield, performance, manufacturing, and customer technical support. The role involves transitioning products from New Product Development to mass production, solving technical challenges that impact yield, quality, and manufacturability, and ensuring products meet requirements throughout their lifecycle.
Requirements
- Good understanding of the semiconductor test practices and silicon design basics
- Comfortable using data analysis tools like Exensio, Minitab, PowerBI, Excel
- Comfortable using lab equipment
- Programming experience a plus
- Knowledge of safe launch process and automotive standards is a plus
- Familiar with test concepts, design of experiment, and the concept of quality coverage vs cost of test, as well as basics of CMOS image sensor architecture and function.
- Experienced with root cause and corrective action analysis, and ideally have experience with 8D generation and associated analysis tools like 5-whys, Ishikawa, FMEA, etc.
Responsibilities
- Improve and maintain probe and package test yield
- Improve quality and respond to customer return requests by finding root causes and putting in corrective actions and containments
- Support manufacturing and planning to ensure we can ship product and meet deliverables
- Transition each product from NPD phase to mass production, solving technical problems that affect yield, quality, and manufacturability, and finding creative solutions when these 3 areas conflict with each other.
- Analyze yield and propose improvement plans and projections
- Respond to incoming customer returns and perform data analysis, electrical failure analysis, and submit for physical failure analysis
- Create and put in test, design or manufacturing improvements for better quality and yield
Other
- Master or PhD in Engineering or Computer Sciences (similar backgrounds will be reviewed as well)
- 6+ years of experience in Test, Product Engineering or equivalent
- Good organization and written and verbal communication skills
- Problem solver with a can-do attitude
- Able to work in a multi-actor and multi-disciplinary environments
