Microsoft's AI Data Platform needs a strategic leader to manage the full lifecycle of data for AI training, aiming to break down data silos, maximize ROI on data investments, and accelerate AI model development across the company.
Requirements
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with Azure (or similar cloud) services, including resource provisioning, IAM, networking, and scripting (PowerShell or Azure CLI).
- Deep expertise in AI/ML data pipelines—pre-training, fine-tuning, evaluation, and deployment.
- Demonstrated expertise in Azure logging/monitoring, private networking (Private Endpoints/Links), and large-scale data-ingestion pipelines.
- Proven technical background in data lifecycle management, security, and compliance.
- Experience with cloud data platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP).
- Experience with automation, data pipelines, and human-in-the-loop systems.
- Proven experience in product management for large-scale data or AI platforms.
Responsibilities
- Define and drive the vision, strategy, development and roadmap for Microsoft’s cross-company AI data platform to making data discoverable, accessible, and reusable across teams.
- Drive automation of dataset ingestion, registration, validation, PII curation, discovery, sharing, and lineage.
- Strengthen security, manage capacity and entitlements, and integrate with governance and compliance services.
- Strategically acquire, generate, and onboard high-value datasets, minimizing redundancy and optimizing costs.
- Establish a customer-driven priority framework and long-term roadmap for platform evolution.
- Implement feedback loops to improve data quality and model performance, leveraging human-in-the-loop workflows for annotation and validation.
- Oversee automation pipelines and continuous improvement of data-onboarding workflows.

- Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
- Track record of leading cross-functional efforts at scale in high-stakes, fast-paced environments.
