Microsoft's Azure Hardware Systems and Infrastructure (AHSI) organization is looking to innovate the latest hardware designs to propel Microsoft's cloud growth by focusing on Edge AI and Workload Optimized Computing.
Requirements
- 7+ years industry experience in Server, CPU, Memory, or Networking technology development.
- Knowledge of cloud and AI datacenter architecture
- Industry experience in High Performance Computing (HPC) or Supercomputing, with a focus on engineering or product management
- Familiarity with cloud AI workloads and industry-standard benchmarks
- Solution level experience across server, storage and networking technologies, including awareness of emerging trends
- Understanding of server architecture, design, and development—particularly in power and performance optimization
- Background in hardware infrastructure engineering environments
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with 1st and 3rd party technology providers; understand their portfolios and integrate with internal engineering and business stakeholders.
- Drive a competitive and executable roadmap strategy across: Edge 1st Party, AI, Workload Optimized programs for Azure hardware infrastructure.
- Deep dive into infrastructure technologies and trends including: CPU, Memory, Networking, Accelerators
- Quantitatively compare various offerings and develop recommendations that give Azure hardware infrastructure a strategic edge.
- Perform: Roadmap scenario modeling, Financial modeling, Market analysis, Evaluate tradeoffs between performance, features, cost, and time-to-market.
- Drive internal alignment among wide-ranging cross-functional stakeholders to define the hardware technology platform plan of record.
- Recommend internal and external process improvements across partner teams to ensure process optimization.
