Microsoft Silicon, Cloud Hardware, and Infrastructure Engineering (SCHIE) is looking for a Principal Quality Engineer to ensure the quality of server hardware across design, manufacturing, data center deployment, and sustaining phases to support Microsoft's expanding cloud infrastructure and growing cloud business.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in working with modern server architectures and/or their subsystems– including GPU, CPU, AI hardware,and methods for root cause analysis and debugging.
  • 7 + years of experience in leading a large-scale team or taskforce to resolve technical problems and solutions.
  • 15+ years of experience in working with the modern server architectures and/or their subsystems – including GPU, CPU, AI hardware, Memory and methods for root cause analysis and debugging.
  • Doctorate Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Reliability Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field AND 5+ years technical engineering experience
  • Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Reliability Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field AND 7+ years technical engineering experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Reliability Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience.
  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer HW, Or System Engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the team or task forces to drive the server quality across design, manufacturing, data center deployment and sustaining phase
  • Collaborate with leaders to drive Harward Quality across platforms.
  • Provide technical guidance to stakeholders and solve complex issues.
  • Drive continuous improvement through Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
  • Capable of leading the technical deep dives into failure analysis methodologies, system or component test failure reproduction strategies, test code or fault isolation content or test suites
  • Establish Critical-to-Quality performance metrics to enhance product quality.
  • Ensure quality requirements are met in the hardware change management process.
