Pratt & Whitney is seeking a Principal Quality Engineer to partner with Operations and Manufacturing Engineering on MRL and PPAP execution, driving initial product producibility assessment and process design deliverables.
Requirements
- Experience with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
- Experience reading and interpreting technical drawings
- Knowledge of continuous improvement tools such as Six Sigma and LEAN
- Knowledge and effective practice of Environmental, Health and Safety requirements
- Engineering degree (aerospace, industrial, manufacturing, mechanical, quality)
- Certified PPAP MFP Approver
- Experience with Solumina and SAP software
Responsibilities
- Partner with engineering /operations on escape management activity, including engineering escape RCCA and Mfg. escape Corrective actions (process and design)
- Lead teams to investigate the root cause of customer escapes and non-conformances and determine appropriate corrective/preventive actions; lead and participate in various teams in support of the unit’s CORE (Customer Oriented Results and Excellence) goals
- Review and approve First Article inspections, Solumina Work Instruction updates, and Process Tryouts; perform product, process and work instruction audits
- Interface with various Engineering, Operations, and Materials groups to resolve technical/quality issues
- Review and implement various internal and regulatory requirement changes; provide technical guidance and training to OEM Parts Inspectors
- Participate and lead process improvement initiatives to increase organizational efficiency and effectiveness.
