The Machine Learning Research Group at Oracle is looking for an outstanding PhD researcher with expertise in recommender systems to advance scientific understanding and create real-world impact through novel ML-based recommendation systems.

Requirements

• 3+ years of post-PhD research and work experience in Recommender Systems
• Strong background of theory and practice of machine learning and foundation models
• Excellent programming and debug skills in Python
• Hands on experience with common machine learning frameworks, such as PyTorch
• Experience in analyzing and collecting data from various sources, and thorough understanding of experimental practices, error analysis, and evaluation approaches
• Outstanding research track record

Responsibilities

• Research, design, and implement novel methods for building and measuring ML-based recommendation systems
• Create new datasets that push the limits of existing AI and ML technology
• Contribute to research that may lead to publications or conference presentations
• Collaborate with other team members and teams
• Transfer technology to product groups
• Collaborate with external researchers

Other

• Ph.D. degree in the field of Recommender Systems, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, or equivalent.
• Experience collaborating in a team environment on research projects
• Excellent communication skills
