The Microsoft Security organization is focused on securing digital technology platforms, devices, and clouds in customers' heterogeneous environments, as well as ensuring the security of their own internal estate. The PyRIT Team is looking for a Principal Software Engineer to help lead the creation of software to emulate real-world attacks against Microsoft's AI products, identifying risks in generative AI systems.
Requirements
- The ability to apply reference architecture and patterns for a variety of solutions (e.g., advanced analytics, artificial intelligence, analytics, security, etc.).
- Demonstrated knowledge of the engineering life-cycle that provides for task estimation, design and code review, specification review, bug triage, code check-in, sign-off, test targeting, and performance standards to meet customer and business goals
- coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C-Sharp, Java, JavaScript, or Python
- 2+ years people management experience.
- 2+ years product ownership experience.
Responsibilities
- Lead efforts to design, implement, and support AI-driven adversary emulation tooling.
- Support partner development teams and the open-source community in contributing to our services.
- Partner with internal defensive security teams to improve their detection, investigation, and response capabilities.
- Build relationships with peers through design and code reviews, and peer mentoring.
- Analyze emerging attack techniques from red teams, adversarial researchers, and external threat actors, leveraging these insights to develop and refine advanced security tooling.
