Microsoft Security needs to protect customers in a world with increasing digital threats, regulatory scrutiny, and estate complexity. The organization aims to reshape security and empower users, customers, and developers with a security cloud. Specifically, this role will help lead the PyRIT Team to create software that emulates real-world attacks against Microsoft's AI products to identify risks in generative AI systems.
Requirements
- 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C-Sharp, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.
- The ability to apply reference architecture and patterns for a variety of solutions (e.g., advanced analytics, artificial intelligence, analytics, security, etc.).
- Demonstrated knowledge of the engineering life-cycle that provides for task estimation, design and code review, specification review, bug triage, code check-in, sign-off, test targeting, and performance standards to meet customer and business goals.
- 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C-Sharp, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 12+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C-Sharp, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.
Responsibilities
- Lead efforts to design, implement, and support AI-driven adversary emulation tooling.
- Support partner development teams and the open-source community in contributing to our services.
- Partner with internal defensive security teams to improve their detection, investigation, and response capabilities.
- Analyze emerging attack techniques from red teams, adversarial researchers, and external threat actors, leveraging these insights to develop and refine advanced security tooling.

- Microsoft Cloud Background Check:This position will be required to pass the Microsoft background and Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
