Northrop Grumman is seeking a Research & Development Engineer to work on revolutionary systems that impact people's lives around the world, specifically in the Advanced Technology Lab (ATL) designing, manufacturing, and testing novel semiconductor technologies.
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of microelectronics
- Experience with modeling and simulation of novel materials and electronic devices
- Understanding of semiconductor fabrication and processing steps such as wafer bonding
- Atomistic simulation (e.g. Quantum ATK or LAMMPS) or DFT
- Device modeling and simulation (e.g. Synopsys, Silvaco, etc.)
- Experience creating machine learning data pipelines
- Python, JMP, TensorFlow, etc.
Responsibilities
- Design, manufacture, and test novel semiconductor technologies
- Modeling and simulation of novel materials and electronic devices
- Understanding of semiconductor fabrication and processing steps such as wafer bonding
- Work with microelectronic devices including semiconductors (Silicon, Gallium Arsenide, Gallium Nitride, Silicon Carbide) and superconductors
- Develop and test devices for radar and space systems
- Collaborate with a team to achieve project goals
- Communicate technical information to others

- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Ability and desire to assume a technical leadership role within the organization
- Bachelor's Degree in Physics, Materials Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Data Science or any related degree
