Raytheon is seeking a Principal Signals Software Engineer to design, develop, optimize, and test systems using models to satisfy customer missions for their satellite ground systems team, focusing on radio frequencies, Fourier, and digital signals processing.
Requirements
- Active and transferable TS/SCI with Polygraph
- Experience as a Signals Software Engineer (SSWE) or equivalent on a project with a focus on Radio Frequency (RF) to include experience with Fourier transforms, filtering, communications theory, digital modulation, error control coding, signals analysis tools (e.g., Wigner-Ville transform (WVT), DVT), and digital signal processing (e.g., adaptive beamforming/ filtering, demodulation).
- Experience with software defined radio architectures.
- Experience in programming languages such as Java, C, C++, and Python.
- Experience with satellite communication systems and ground systems.
- Experience with commercial wireless standards
- Experience with geolocation techniques
Responsibilities
- Design, develop and modify software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of design.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to integrate signal processing software with satellite ground systems.
- Develop and implement algorithms for signal processing, including Fourier transforms, digital signal processing, and RF signal processing.
- Analyze and optimize signal processing algorithms for improved performance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to signal processing software.
- Lead one or more software development teams and ensure the work is completed in accordance with the constraints of the software development process being used on any project.
- Follow established Software processes and procedures, development, documentation and maintenance/management of operations concepts and requirements.

- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
