Requirements

  • Well versed in core engineering fields, specifically software/systems engineering, configuration management, and information technology.
  • Experience with digital products, ITIL certification, and IT/connectivity expertise strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of design control methodologies
  • Strong background in Information Technology standard methodologies (VMs, hubs, networking).
  • Firm understanding of GMP and quality system requirements.
  • Demonstrated process optimization and analytical skills (e.g. Lean Six Sigma, Value Stream Mapping) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Represent Technical Services during new product development and sustaining activities
  • Drive and champion Design for Serviceability (DFS) and Design for Service Revenue within product core teams
  • Analyze product/system and operational metrics and data to find opportunities for improvement and creates robust cases to pursue them.
  • Create global service plans for new product platform releases. Lead plan implementation for service training, test equipment and tool installation and validation, spare parts, and service manuals/instructions.
  • Work closely with Marketing, Manufacturing, Sales, Quality, R&D, and Global Service Operations to achieve product line objectives.
  • Independently plan, schedule, and lead cross-functional teams in detailed phases of the engineering work in a project.
  • Remain up to date on new/emerging technologies; key internal expert/resource for area(s) of expertise; evaluate and recommend products/solutions in key technology areas relevant to the products/systems we support and/or their associated services.

  • Able to work independently, collaborate with multiple partners, and effectively manage several priorities.
  • Able to communicate clearly, tactfully, and effectively to all levels in the organization, including senior management.
  • Able to provide solutions that reflect understanding of business objectives and cost implications.
  • Able and willing to travel both domestically and internationally (10-20%).
  • B.S. in Engineering (Information Technology, Systems, Biomedical, and Electrical preferred, Manufacturing/Industrial and Mechanical considered) and 5 + years related experience. Advanced degree (M.S. or MBA) with 3+ years.
  • Medical device or other regulated industry experience strongly preferred.
