Microsoft is looking to solve technically demanding problems in distributed systems, language models, and production-scale AI to power the Microsoft 365 Chat Copilot for enterprise, a groundbreaking AI assistant used by hundreds of millions of users around the world.

Requirements

  • 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C-Sharp, Java, JavaScript, or Python
  • 5+ years of experience with architecting large system and seeing them to production.
  • 5+ years of industry experience building, designing, managing and delivering highly available, large-scale: cloud services and/or distributed systems/services on a cloud platform.
  • Experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C-Sharp, Java, JavaScript, or Python
  • Experience with architecting large systems and seeing them to production
  • Experience with building, designing, managing and delivering highly available, large-scale cloud services and/or distributed systems/services on a cloud platform
  • Knowledge of distributed systems, language models, and production-scale AI

Responsibilities

  • Leads design discussions: Facilitates design meetings, creates design documents, and ensures alignment with project goals.
  • Ensures system architecture: Designs system architecture that meets security, compliance, and scalability requirements.
  • Enhances and reuses developer tools: Develops and maintains tools that support code creation, testing, and deployment.
  • Mentors others: Guides team members to produce extensible and maintainable code through code reviews and pair programming.
  • Leads implementation and deployment: Oversees the implementation and deployment of solutions, ensuring they meet quality standards.
  • Acts as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI): Monitors systems, responds to incidents, and restores services to ensure reliability.
  • Leads efforts to reduce incident volume: Analyzes incident patterns and implements broad resolutions to minimize future incidents.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements
  • 0-25% travel required
  • 3 days/week in-office work requirement
  • Must be able to work in the United States
