The Hartford's Employee Benefits Organization is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to lead AI-enabled service transformation, setting technical vision, evaluating future solutions, and mentoring engineers to ensure scalable, cloud-native architectures and successful delivery of complex projects.
Requirements
- 5+ years of direct experience with GCP and/or AWS; strong knowledge of multi-cloud ecosystems.
- Expertise in scalable cloud solutions using GenAI, machine learning, and advanced analytics.
- Strong understanding of DevSecOps and scaled agile methodologies.
- Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation).
- Proficiency in microservices, API management (Swagger, Apigee, AWS API Gateway), and event-driven architecture (Kafka, Kinesis).
- Hands-on experience with Agentic AI frameworks (LangChain, CrewAI, LangGraph).
- Skills in prompt engineering and instruction design.

- This role will have a Hybrid work schedule, with the expectation of working in an office 3 days a week
