Microsoft is looking for a Principal Software Engineer to join the Copilot Studio's AI Orchestration team. This team is responsible for leveraging and optimizing generative AI models to perform actions, make decisions, and create responses within agents. The goal is to power millions of conversational and autonomous agents daily and integrate them with various Microsoft products. The role will involve analyzing, experimenting with, and productizing new AI capabilities to stay at the forefront of AI innovation.

Requirements

  • coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C-Sharp, Java, JavaScript, or Python
  • building generative AI applications or services.
  • coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C-Sharp, Java, JavaScript, or Python
  • industry experience in fullstack or backend development, successfully shipping services through multiple releases.

Responsibilities

  • Creates, implements, optimizes, debugs, refactors, and reuses code to establish and improve performance and maintainability, effectiveness, and return on investment (ROI).
  • Drives creation and conducting of experimentation to determine the effectiveness of changes, monitors developments for prototyping and testing products, and interprets results from experimentation.
  • Leverages subject-matter expertise of product features and partners with appropriate stakeholders (e.g., project managers) to drive a workgroup's project plans, release plans, and work items.
  • Acts as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) and guides other engineers by developing and following the playbook, working on call to monitor system/product/service for degradation, downtime, or interruptions, alerting stakeholders about status and initiates actions to restore system/product/service for simple and complex problems when appropriate.
  • Proactively seeks new knowledge and adapts to new trends, technical solutions, and patterns that will improve the availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance of products while also driving consistency in monitoring and operations at scale.
  • Provide technical leadership, create clarity for projects and the organization for projects, generate team energy, and drive for project results and impact.

  • 3 days / week in-office
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check
