Harman Professional is seeking to improve electro-acoustic software tools for simulating and modeling loudspeaker system performance
Requirements
- Thorough understanding of fundamental acoustic engineering principles
- Proficiency in one modern programming language such as C or C++ including object-oriented design and other engineering tools such as Matlab and Python
- Background in applied software engineering in teams
- Previous experience in loudspeaker design and data analysis with advanced signal processing and control such as FIR filters, dynamic limiting schemes and line array signal processing for performance applications
- Previous experience in Matlab, Python, Labview and other science specific software languages
- Previous experience with loudspeaker electro-acoustic software and data sets such as EASE, CATT-Acoustic, VACS, DDA and others
- Understanding and experience with optimizing sound system design, room acoustics and system tuning fundamentals with advanced DSP
Responsibilities
- Architect, define and develop software tools for processing and visualizing electroacoustic data and analysis
- Create new tools to optimize loudspeaker design and audio system performance
- Research new technologies and algorithms and perform experiments to determine potential design feasibility or application
- Provide tools to support documentation and definition needs for state-of-the-art products
- Direct and plan DSP algorithm development for system optimizations of directivity, noise control or system performance
Other
- Master’s Degree in Acoustic Engineering, Software Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or equivalent technical degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience and 4+ years related engineering experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Willingness to work in an office in Northridge, CA - Hybrid Remote ( 3 days in - office)
- Willingness to travel to other Harman locations in the US and internationally
- Willingness to submit to a background screen and a drug test
