The Principal Software Engineer delivers new technology capabilities for the Portfolio Management teams within Investments. This role is responsible for serving as a technical leader and collaborating with cross-functional teams to architect solutions that support our investment software systems and strategies.
Requirements
- Proficiency in C
- Strong understanding of backend application development, including API design, data management, and system integration.
- Experience with Domain Driven Design.
- Experience with frontend frameworks such as React, Angular, Vue, or Blazor.
- Understands object-oriented and service-oriented application development techniques and theories.
- Experience with automated acceptance testing.
- Experience with containerization tools such as Docker and Kubernetes
Responsibilities
- Serves as a technology leader and influences technology strategy.
- Collaborates and partnerswith peer Investments lead engineers and Investment Architecturethrough the designand implementation of complex, scalable software solutions ensuring alignment with business goals and technical excellence.
- Defines platform architecture, sub-system designs, and system integration strategy.
- Accountable for providing the engineering guidance, technology architecture, and will guide the solution architecture for the Portfolio Management team.
- Designs and develops high-performance, low latency applications for Portfolio Management.
- Preparesstechnical architecture artifacts, deployment diagrams, and other documentation on operationalization and maintenance of software solutions.
- Designs and implements initial platform code that will be leveraged by engineering teams.

- 10+ years of experience as a software engineer with 3 years of experience as a Lead/Principal Software Engineer.
- Experience in the financial services industry (e.g., investment management, trading systems, or fintech).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with internal and external business stakeholders.
- Experience with Agile development methodologies and practices (Scrum, Kanban or XP).
- Experience with security best practices for SDLC (e.g. the Secure Software Development Framework)
